Jingle Bells

Jingle bells Song

Dashing through the snow

In a one-horse open sleigh

Through the fields we go

Laughing all the way.

Bells on bob-tail ring

Making spirits bright

What fun it is to ride and sing

A sleighing song tonight.

*  Jingle bells, Jingle bells

   Jingle all the way,

Oh what fun it is to ride

    In a one-horse open sleigh,

*  Jingle bells, Jingle bells

   Jingle all the way,

Oh what fun it is to ride

   In a one-horse open sleigh.

(The Snake and The Crab)

The Snake and The Crab

A snake and a crab had become friends and were living together. The crab had a straightforward character and he urged the snake to change his wicked ways but the snake refused to follow the crab's good advice. So the crab kept an eye on the snake and when he found him sleeping he grabbed the snake by the neck and squeezed him to death between his claws. As he was dying, the snake stretched out straight. The crab then remarked, 'Hey, if you had been this straightforward to begin with, I would not have had to punish you for your crooked behavior!'

"people who treat their friends deceitfully end up hurting themselves instead."

(The Cat and the Mice)

The Cat and the Mice

A certain house was overrun with mice. A cat, discovering this, made her way into it and began to catch and eat them one by one. Fearing for their lives, the mice kept themselves close in their holes. The cat was no longer able to get at them and perceived that she must tempt them forth by some device.

For this purpose she jumped on a peg, and suspending herself from it, pretended to be dead. One of the mice, peeping stealthily out, saw her and said, "Ah, my good madam, even though you should turn into a meal-bag, we will not come near you."

(The Crow and The pigeon)

The Crow and The pigeon
"Coo, coo." pigeons got food from man every day, and were living fortunately. The hungry crow always looked at that situation, slavering enviably. "Why pigeons can get food from man." The crow who caught the pitch-black figure of himself which was reflected in the puddle, said this.,,,,

"Now I understand. I cannot get food from man because I am deep black color and dirty, although a pigeon is white."

The crow remembered that a flour seller is always white, covered with powder. "It's Good; I will color myself white and become a colleague of pigeon." Saying so, he flew away to a flour shop.

He jumped into the bag of the powder placed before the flour shop. And when he became pure white, he went to the feeding area of pigeons instantly, and was going to eat food together.

However, rain fell suddenly, and powder covering the body was flushed rapidly and returned to a deep-black figure. The pigeons which looked at this said "It's a thief crow!"
"Even if he wears much more white powder, it will come off, immediately" All of pigeons poked and drove him off. Although the crow returned to his friend of crow ploddingly, he was driven away, with saying "although you made a fool of a black crow and changed yourself into the white pigeon, if you return now, we cannot admit you as a friend".

“If you imitate others in only the surface and are arrogant, nobody will be a partner of you.”

"Now I understand. I cannot get food from man because I am deep black color and dirty, although a pigeon is white." The crow remembered that a flour seller is always white, covered with powder. "It's Good; I will color myself white and become a colleague of pigeon." Saying so, he flew away to a flour shop.

He jumped into the bag of the powder placed before the flour shop. And when he became pure white, he went to the feeding area of pigeons instantly, and was going to eat food together. However , rain fell suddenly, and powder covering the body was flushed rapidly and returned to a deep-black figure .

(The Ass Loaded with Salt)

The Ass Loaded with Salt

There was once a huckster who kept an ass, and when he heard that some cheap salt was being sold at the seaside, he drove his ass there to buy some. After having loaded the ass with as much salt as it could carry, the huckster drove him home alongside a slippery ledge of rock, until the ass accidentally fell into the river below.

When the salt dissolved, the ass was relieved of his burden so that he reached the bank with ease. Then he continued his journey, light in body and spirit.

Sometime later, the huckster set off for the seashore for some more salt and loaded the ass, if possible, with even more salt than before. On their way home, they crossed the river into which the ass had previously fallen, and this time he slipped into the water on purpose. Once again the salt dissolved, and the ass was relieved of his load.

Disturbed by the loss of the salt, the huckster tried to think of a way to cure his ass from performing this trick. So, on his next journey to the coast, he placed a load of sponges on the beast. When they arrived at the same river as before, the ass was up to his old tricks and rolled himself into the water. But the sponges became soaking wet, and the ass discovered to his dismay that his burden had doubled its weight instead of getting lighter.

“The same ploy will not suit all circumstances.”

(The Ass Loaded with Salt)

(The Goose and The Stork)

The Goose and The Stork
There were a goose and a stork living at a big pond. They were close friends and always looked for food together. One day while the two birds were walking along the pond, there was a heron flying passed them. "Friends, there is another pond over there. It is full of shrimps, shells, crabs and fish," said the heron.

So, the goose and the stork flew to the pond which the heron had told them about. At the pond, there was really a lot of food. The goose ate a lot of food while the stork ate just enough to fill himself. "We rarely find a place which is full of food like this. Why do you eat so little?" the goose asked his friend. Oh, I'm full. If I eat too much, I'm afraid that I cannot fly back," answered the stork. "But I can eat a lot more," the goose said and went on eating.

At the moment, there was a hunter who came by and saw the two birds. The hunter immediately aimed his arrow at the goose and the stork. By chance, the stork saw the hunter. It cried out to warn the goose before it flew away. The goose who had eaten too much could not fly. It was finally shot by the hunter.

(The Goose and The Stork)

(The Old Man and The Silly Donkey)

The Old Man and The Silly Donkey
A long time ago, there was an old man who had a donkey and a puppy. The donkey lived in a good stable and had very good food to eat. But the man made him do hard work everyday. The puppy lived in the house doing nothing. It liked to jump and sit on the old man's lap and it liked to lick the man's face. The old man would laugh joyfully and fed the puppy with cake and milk.

The donkey saw this and was jealous. The donkey began to compare himself with the puppy.
"I have to work very hard while the puppy plays all the time," the donkey thought. "If I behave the same way, perhaps the old man may like me too," the donkey thought. So the next morning, while the old man was eating his breakfast, the donkey walked into the house. He ran around the table and tried to lick the old man's face. As the donkey was bigger than the puppy, he knocked over and broke a jug full of water and a cup of honey. The old man was very angry. He picked up a big stick and hit the donkey. The silly donkey ran away in pain. The old man punished the donkey by not giving him any food. He had to stand in the sun and rain the whole day. "What a silly donkey I am!" From now, I will not do this again so that I will not be punished," he said to himself.

(The Old Man and The Silly Donkey)

(The Two Frogs)

The Two Frogs
Two frogs dwelt in the same pool. When the pool dried up under the summer's heat, they left it and set out together for another home. As they went along they chanced to pass a deep well, amply supplied with water, and when they saw it, one of the Frogs said to the other, "Let us descend and make our abode in this well: it will furnish us with shelter and food."
The other replied with greater caution, "But suppose the water should fail us. How can we getout again from so great a depth?

(The Two Frogs)
Two frogs dwelt in the same pool. When the pool dried up under the summer's heat, they left it and set out together for another home.

As they went along they chanced to pass a deep well, amply supplied with water, and when they saw it, one of the Frogs said to the other, "Let us descend and make our abode in this well: it will furnish us with shelter and food.

“The other replied with greater caution, "But suppose the water should fail us. How can we get out again from so great a depth?”

“A willful man will have his own way to his own hurt.”
