Dog and the Oyster
There was a dog who lived near the sea-shore. He used to eat eggs.
Once he saw an oyster and, opening his mouth to a very wide extent, swallowed
it down, thought it was an egg. Soon afterwards suffering great pain in his
stomach, he said, "I deserve all this pain, for my foolishness in thinking
that everything round must be an egg."

unsuspected danger.”

สุนัขกับหอยนางรม (The Dog and the Oyster)
There was a dog who lived near the seashore. He used to eat eggs.
มีสุนัขตัวหนึ่งอาศัยอยู่บริเวณชายฝั่ง มันเคยลิ้มลองรสชาดไข่มาก่อน
Once he saw an Oyster and, opening his mouth to a very wide extent,
swallowed it down, thought it was an egg.
จนกระทั่งครั้งหนึ่งเมื่อมันเห็นหอยนางรม มันจึงอ้าปากจนกว้างและกลืนหอยนางรมเข้าไป
โดยคิดว่าสิ่งที่กินเข้าไปนั้นเป็นไข่
Soon afterwards suffering great pain in his stomach, he said,
"I deserve all this pain, for my foolishness in thinking that everything
round must be an egg."
หลังจากนั้นไม่นานเจ้าหมาตัวหนี้รู้สึกปวดท้อง มันกล่าวว่า “ฉันสมควรปวดท้องจริงๆ
กับความโง่ของตัวเองที่คิดว่าทุกสิ่งรอบ ๆ ตัวจะต้องเป็นไข่”
นิทานเรื่องนี้สอนให้รู้ว่า
