สิงโตตัวนี้ก็เช่นกัน มันกำลังเดินออกไปหาน้ำดื่ม

สิงโตเดินตรงไปยังบ่อน้ำเล็กๆ แห่งหนึ่งที่อยู่ไม่ไกลนัก

สิงโตจึงหันมาพูดกับหมูป่าว่า "ข้าว่าเราเลิกต่อสู้กันเถอะ"
"If not, we might become a meal for those vultures.
"เพราะไม่เช่นนั้น เราทั้งสองอาจกลายเป็นอาหารของเจ้าแร้งพวกนั้นได้
" The boar agreed at once and the lion let him drink from the pond first. When both had drunk to their full, each went their way"
หมูป่าเห็นด้วยจึงตอบตกลงในทันทีจากนั้นสิงโตก็บอกให้หมูป่าดื่มน้ำก่อนและเมื่อทั้งคู่ดื่มน้ำจนพอใจแล้ว จึงเดินแยกจากกันไปด้วยดี
