All the beautiful trees called the ugly tree a hunchback.The ugly tree woodered  why god had not made it like the other trees, as birds never made their nests on it, nor could it give shade to travellers.

กาลครั้งหนึ่งนานมาแล้ว มีต้นไม้สูงใหญ่ และต้นไม้สวยมากมายในป่าทึบ ยกเว้นอยู่ต้นหนึ่ง ลำต้นถูกดัดงอ เหล่าต้นไม้สวยเรียกต้นไม้ขี้เหร่ต้นนี้ว่า เจ้าหลังค่อม

The ugly tree woodered  why god had not made it like the other trees, as birds never made their nests on it, nor could it give shade to travellers. 

ต้นไม้ขี้เหร่ประหลาดใจคิดว่า ทำไมพระเจ้าไม่สร้างให้มันเหมือนกับต้นไม้ต้นอื่นๆ เพราะต้นของมันไม่เคยมีฝูงนกมาสร้างรัง และไม่เคยให้ร่มเงาแก่นักเดินทาง

วันหนึ่ง คนตัดไม้คนหนึ่งเดินทางมา เห็นต้นไม้บิดเกลียว เขารู้สึกว่า เขาไม่สามารถตัดต้นไม้ต้นนี้เป็นไม้ยาว หรือ ท่อนไม้ทรงตรงได้ เขาเดินเข้าไปใกล้ๆ กับต้นไม้สวยพร้อทด้วยฆ้อนในมือ เหล่าต้นไม้สวยตกใจหวาดกลัว คนตัดไม้ตัดต้นไม้สวยพวกนั้นจนเกลี้ยง ต้นไม้ขี้เหร่รู้สึกขอบคุณพระเจ้าที่ไม่สร้างให้ตัวเองสวยงาม

Oneday, the evil heron caught a bluefish. The bluefish was very angry at the heron. The fish said to heron, "Leave me at once, or else I will turn you into a tree, and you will never be able to eat us again." The heron did not believe the fish and still wanted to eat it.

The bluefish said again, "You know, you have a lovely voice, Why don't you sing so that more fish will come near and you can eat all of them too?" The heron agreed. As soon as the wicked heron opened its mouth to sing, the fish from his mouth jumped out and swam far away."

ปลาฟ้าพูดต่อ "เจ้ารู้ไหมว่า เจ้ามีเสียงที่ไพเราะมาก ทำไมเจ้าไม่ร้องเพลง เพื่อเรียกฝูงปลามาใกล้ๆ แล้วค่อยจับปลาเหล่านั้นกิน" นกกระสาเมื่อได้ยินเช่นนั้นก็เห็นด้วยกับความคิดของปลา ทันใดนั้น เจ้านกกระสาใจร้ายอ้าปากร้องเพลง ปลาฟ้าที่โดนปากนกคาบอยู่รีบกระโดดออก และว่ายน้ำหนีไป

There once lived a cunning and crafty man in a small village. He always used to make money through deceit. "Why should I work when I have the ability to deceive others!" he would think.

One day, the cunning man went to a foolish farmer and said, "I have a huge property that I am not able to take care of. I want to sell some of my land. Would you like to buy it?" The farmer was in need of land, so he said, "Yes, but first I would like to see the land." "Sure!" said the cunning man, and led the farmer to a huge field.

At one end of the field there was a hut and a well. "The hut and well are also for sale," said the cunning man. "But the well is the most expensive of all."

The farmer was surprised and asked, "What is so special about this well?" "It's called silver well." was the reply from the cunning man. "There is a lot of silver down there."

Then, he took the farmer to the well and pulled out a bucketful of silver, which he had arranged from beforehand. "See.." he said, "Every time you pull out the bucket, you will get silver! That's why this well is the most expensive."

The farmer was thrilled! "If I buy this well, all my financial problems will be solved forever," he thought. Then asked, "How much will it cost?" "The original price is 100 gold coins, but I shall reduce it 75, just for you, friend!" The foolish farmer felt it wasn't a bad bargain and decided to buy the well. He went home to get the money. The cunning man followed him and waited outside his house.

The farmer's wife was an intelligent woman. "I doubt this story of the silver wel," She said to the farmer. "Before giving away our entire savings, we must seek advice from some wise men of the village."

The farmer agreed. He went to the cunning man and said politely, "Please give me a day's time to arrange for the money. You can come tomorrow morning, I shall keep it ready."

Feeling happy that the farmer was trapped, the cunning man went away. Then, the farmer went to a wise man and asked for his opinion. "Silver well!" the wise man exclaimed. 

"Tomorrow went the man comes to your home, aked him to give it to you in writing that the silver well belongs to him and that he is selling it to you for 75 gold coins. If he refuses to write the receipt then tell him that will pay only 10 gold coins. If he is genuine seller, he will give you the receipt. If he is a crook, he will agree to sell the well for 10 gold coins." Taking the tips from the wise man, the farmer returned home.

The next morning when the cunning man arrived, the farmer said, "I am ready to buy the silver well, but you must write on a piece of paper that it belongs to you, that it produces silver, and that you are selling it to me for 75 gold coins." Hearing this, the cunning man was alarmed! "Err...hhh I am giving you my word, dear friend! Isn't that enough?" he said "All right, if you can't give to me in writing then I shall pay you only 10 gold coins. Will that be fine?" asked the farmer. "Oh...ah... why yes.... sure!" said the cunning man, still happy that he will get at least 10 gold coins.

Now the farmer was sure that the man was trying to deceive him. He caught the cunning man and handed him over to the strong men of the village.

The cunning man got a sound thrashing and was chased out of the village. Never again did he dare to deceive anyone.

วันหนึ่ง ชายเจ้าเล่ห์ไปหาชาวนาเขลาคนหนึ่ง และเอ๋ยว่า "ฉันมีสมบัติมหาศาล แต่ฉันไม่สามารถดูแลรักษามันได้ ฉันต้องการขายที่ดินบางส่วน คุณต้องการซื้อมันไหม? ชาวนาต้องการหาที่ อยู่พอดีจึงตอบกลับไปว่า "ต้องการสิ, แต่ฉันอยากไปเห็นที่ดินตรงนั้นเสียก่อน" ชายเจ้าเล่ห์จึงตอบไปว่า "แน่นะ!" และก็พาชาวนาไปยังที่ดินผืนใหญ่แห่งหนึ่ง

บริเวณท้ายสวน มีกระท่อมหนึ่งหลัง พร้อมกับบ่อน้ำอยู่หนึ่งลูก ชายเจ้าเล่ห์พูดว่า "กระท่อมกับบ่อก็ขายนะ แต่บ่อลูกนี้ราคาแพงที่สุด"

The farmer was surprised and asked, "What is so special about this well?" "It's called silver well." was the reply from the cunning man. "There is a lot of silver down there."

ชาวนาประหลาดใจกับสิ่งที่ได้ยินจึงถามว่า "บ่อนี้มันมีความพิเศษตรงไหนเหรอ?" คำตอบที่ได้จากชายเจ้าเลห์ก็คือ "บ่อนี้ คือ บ่อเงิน มีเงินมหาศาลจมอยู่ในนั้น" 

Then he took the farmer to the well and pulled out a bucketful of silver, which he had arranged from beforehand. "See.." he said, "Every time you pull out the bucket, you will get silver! That's why this well is the most expensive."

จากนั้นก็พาชาวนาไปยังบ่อและดึงถังที่เต็มไปด้วยเงินขึ้นมาซึ่งเขาได้จัดเตรียมมันเอาไว้ก่อนหน้านี้แล้ว "ดูสิ" เขากล่าวต่อว่า "ทุกครั้งที่เจ้าดึงถังขึ้นมา เจ้าก็จะได้เงิน! นั่นจึงเป็นเหตุผลว่า ทำไมบ่อลูกนี้จึงมีราคาแพงที่สุด"

ชาวนาตื่นเต้น! เขาคิดว่า "ถ้าข้าซื้อบ่อลูกนี้ ปัญหาทางการเงินทั้งหมดที่มีของข้าก็จะหมดไปตลอดกาล" แล้วจึงเอ๋ยถามกลับไปว่า "แล้วมันราคาเท่าไหร่?" ชายเจ้าเล่ห์ตอบ "ราคาเริ่มต้นคือ 100 เหรียญทองคำ แต่ข้าจะลดให้เพื่อนอย่างเจ้าเหลือแค่ 75 เหรียญทองคำ" ชาวนาเขลารผุ้สึกว่า ราคามันไม่ได้แย่นักจึงตัดสินใจซื้อบ่อน้ำ เขากลับบ้านมาเอาเงิน ชายเจ้าเลห์ตามเขามาด้วย และรออยู่นอกบ้าน

The farmer's wife was an intelligent woman. "I doubt this story of the silver well," She said to the farmer. "Before giving away our entire savings, we must seek advice from some wise men of the village."

ภรรยาของชาวนาเป็นหญิงสาวที่ฉลาด "ฉันสงสัยเรื่องบ่อเงินที่ว่าอยู่นะ" เธอถามผู้เป็นสามี "ก่อนที่จะให้เงินเก็บของเราไป ฉันว่าเราต้องหาคำแนะนำจากใครสักคนที่มีความรู้ในหมู่บ้าน"

The farmer agreed. He went to the cunning man and said politely, "Please give me a day's time to arrange for the money. You can come tomorrow morning, I shall keep it ready."

ชาวนาตกลงเห็นพ้อง เขาไปหาชายเจ้าเล่ห์และกล่าวอย่างสุภาพว่า "ให้เวลาฉันจัดการเรื่องเงินสักวันเถอะ เจ้าค่อยมาพรุ่งนี้เช้านะ ข้าจะเตรียมมันไว้ให้เรียบร้อย"

Feeling happy that the farmer was trapped, the cunning man went away. Then, the farmer went to a wise man and asked for his opinion. "Silver well!" the wise man exclaimed. 

ด้วยความรู้สึกมีความสุขที่ชาวนาหลงกล ชายเจ้าเล่ห์จึงกลับไป ต่อมาชาวนาได้ไปพบกับชายเฉลี่ยวฉลาดคนหนึ่ง และถามถึงมุมมองของเขา "บ่อเงินงั้นรึ!!" ชายฉลาดร้องอุทาน

"Tomorrow went the man comes to your home, aked him to give it to you in writing that the silver well belongs to him and that he is selling it to you for 75 gold coins. If he refuses to write the receipt then tell him that will pay only 10 gold coins. If he is genuine seller, he will give you the receipt. "เอ๋อ.. สิ่งที่ข้าบอกเจ้าไป มันไม่เพียงพองั้นเหรอ?" ชายเจ้าเล่ห์กล่าว "เอาล่ะ ถ้าคุณไม่สามารถเขียนเอกสารให้ฉันได้ ฉันก็จะซื้อในราคาแค่ 10 เหรียญทองคำเท่านั้น ตกลงไหม?" ชาวนาถาม 

" เอ๋อ... ทำไม.. ได้ๆ ตกลง" ชายเจ้าเล่ห์ตอบ และเขาก็ยังคงพอใจที่อย่างน้อยก็ยังได้ 10 เหรียญทองคำ"

Now the farmer was sure that the man was trying to deceive him. He caught the cunning man and handed him over to the strong men of the village.

ตอนนี้ ชาวนามั่นใจแล้วว่าชายคนนี้กำลังพยายามหลอกตน เขาจับชายเจ้าเล่ห์และส่งให้กับกลุ่มชายกำยำแข็งแรงในหมู่บ้าน

The cunning man got a sound thrashing and was chased out of the village. Never again did he dare to deceive anyone.

The Elephants and The Mice

In an earthquake-hit village abandoned by humans, a colony of mice lived. Near the village was a lake, which was used by a herd of elephants.

The elephants would have to cross the village to go to the lake. Thus, one day, as they walked through, they trampled a lot of mice.

The leader of the mice met with the elephants and requested them to take a different route to the lake. He promised them that their favour would be returned in the time of their need.

The elephants laughed. How could such small mice help these large elephants in any way? But then, they agreed to take a different route.

Not so long after, the mice heard that hunters had caught the herd of elephants and were tied in nets.

Immediately, they rushed to rescue the elephants. They gnawed through the nets and ropes with their sharp teeth.

The leader of the elephants repeatedly thanked the mice for their help!

The elephants laughed. How could such small mice help these large elephants in any way? But then, they agreed to take a different route.

เหล่าช้างหัวเราะ หนูตัวเล็กๆ อย่างพวกเจ้าจะมาช่วยเหลืออะไรให้กับช้างตัวใหญ่อย่างพวกข้าได้? แต่ถึงกระนั้นพวกมันก็ยินดีที่จะไปใช้เส้นทางอื่น

Not so long after, the mice heard that hunters had caught the herd of elephants and were tied in nets.

One day, two little girls, Emma and Katherine were walking down the street. Emma said a bag full of gold coins. She instantly went towards the bag and picked it up.

"Oh!" Katherine squealed. "We found a bag full of gold coins!"

"We?" Emma questioned. "I was the one who found it. You were looking at the birds. All these gold coins are mine." 

Katherine was just beginning to sulk when a genie appeared in front of them. He said, "The person who owns this bag will be cursed!" Emma was taken back. "Oh, look what we got into!" she whined. 

At this, Katherine said, "We? You found the bag and it is yours. So only you are the one in trouble."

Katherine walked away.

ในวันหนึ่ง ขณะที่หนูน้อยเอมม่ากับแคทเธอรีนกำลังเดินอยู่บนถนน เอมม่าเอ๋ยว่า ถุงมีเหรียญทองเต็มถุง สาวน้อยเดินตรงไปยังถุงใบนั้นและเก็บมันขึ้นมา

"Oh!" Katherine squealed. "We found a bag full of gold coins!"

"โอ้!" แคทเธอรีนร้องเสียงดัง "เราเจอถุงเหรียญทอง เต็มถุงเลย!"

"We?" Emma questioned. "I was the one who found it. You were looking at the birds. All these gold coins are mine." Katherine was just beginning to sulk when a genie appeared in front of them. He said, "The person who owns this bag will be cursed!" Emma was taken back. "Oh, look what we got into!" she whined.

Katherine walked away.

นิทานเรื่อง กวางฉลาด (The Clever Deer)

The Clever Deer

A very long time ago, there lived a clever deer in the jungle. One day, the deer was grazing near the river and he saw a tiger hiding behind the bushes. 

The deer was so scared to see the tiger's sharp claws and big teeth, but he quickly thought of a bright idea. The clever deer said loudly, "Last week, I ate ten lions, five elephants, but I did not eat any tiger. I think the tiger must be delicious. I hope can find a tiger and eat it."

The tiger behind the bushes heard the clever deer's words and quickly ran away. The tiger ran very fast as he was worried the clever deer will catch him for food. 

A fox saw this and stopped the tiger, the tiger was so frightened and said, "Run, let's run away together. There is a powerful deer near the river. He has killed a lot of animals including lions and elephants. Now, he want to kill me too!" The fox felt so funny and laughed non-stop. "No, How can a deer eat a tiger? The deer is just telling a lie. Let me show you that this is just a trick and we can eat the deer together."

The clever deer saw the tiger was coming back with a fox. He was so scared but he braved himself and shouted loudly, "Hey my dear fox,  thank you so much for bringing a tiger for me. I am so hungry now and I need some food for my lunch. Let's enjoy our lunch together for today." 

The tiger was very angry. He ate the fox on the spot and again he ran quickly to escape from the clever deer. 

However, the clever deer has set up a trap this time and the tiger fell into the trape finally. The deer has saved this own life.

กาลครั้งหนึ่งนานมาแล้ว มีกวางฉลาดตัวหนึ่งอาศัยอยู่ในป่า  วันหนึ่งขณะที่มันกำลังกินหญ้าอยู่บริเวณใกล้แม่น้ำ มันเหลือบไปเห็นเสือตัวหนึ่งซ่อนตัวอยู่หลังพุ่มไม้ กวางรู้สึกหวาดกลัวเป็นอย่างมากเมื่อได้เห็นฟันซี่ใหญ่ และกรงเล็บที่แหลมคมของเสือ ในขณะนั้นมันจึงใช้ไหวพริบเพื่อแก้ปัญหาเฉพาะหน้า เจ้ากวางฉลาดจึงพูดด้วยเสียงอันดังขึ้นมาว่า "อาทิตย์ที่แล้ว ฉันกินสิงโตไปสิบตัว ช้างห้าเชือก แต่ยังไม่ได้กินเสือเลย ฉันคิดว่าเนื้อเสือต้องอร่อยแน่ๆ ฉันหวังว่าฉันจะเจอเสือ และได้กินเสือสักตัว"

เสือที่หลบอยู่หลังพุ่มไม้ เมื่อได้ยินสิ่งที่กวางพูดจึงรีบวิ่งหนีอย่างรวดเร็ว เสือวิ่งเร็วมากเพราะมันกังวลว่ากวางฉลาดจะจับมันกินเป็นอาหาร เมื่อสุนัขจิ้งจอกเห็นจึงหยุดเสือไว้ เสือที่เต็มไปด้วยความหวาดกลัวเอ๋ยขึ้นว่า "วิ่ง วิ่งหนีไปด้วยกัน มีกวางที่มีพละกำลังอยู่บริเวณใกล้แม่น้ำ มันฆ่าสัตว์ไปแล้วมากมายรวมถึงสิงโตแล้วก็ช้าง และตอนนี้มันกำลังจะฆ่าฉันด้วย!" สุนัขจิ้งจอกรู้สึกตลกและหัวเราะร่าไม่หยุด "ไม่มีทาง หรอก กวางสามารถกินเสือได้งั้นหรือ? เจ้ากวางก็แค่พูดโกหก ฉันจะแสดงให้เธอเห็นว่ามันเป็นแค่กลอุบาย พวกเราสามารถไปกินกวางด้วยกันนะ"

กวางฉลาดเห็นเสือกับสุนัขจิ้งจอกกำลังเดินเข้ามาใกล้ทางด้านหลัง มันหวาดกลัวมาก มันรวบรวมความกล้าของตัวเองเท่าที่มี และตะโกนเสียงดังออกมาว่า "เฮ้! เจ้าสุนัขจิ้งจอกเพื่อนรัก ขอบคุณมากนะที่นำเสือมาให้ฉัน ตอนนี้ฉันกำลังหิวมาก และต้องการอาหารสำหรับมื้อกลางวัน วันนี้เรามามีความสุขกับอาหารมื้อเที่ยงร่วมกันเถอะ" เสือเมื่อได้ยินเช่นนั้นจึงรู้สึกโกรธมาก มันฆ่าและกินสุนัขจิ้งจอกในทันที และวิ่งหนีอย่างรวดเร็ว อย่างไรก็ตาม ครั้งนี้กวางฉลาดได้วางกับดักไว้ ส่วนเสือก็ตกหลุมพลางที่ได้วางไว้ในที่สุด กวางสามารถปกป้องชีวิตของตัวเองเอาไว้ได้

นิทานเรื่อง ช้างกับช่างตัดเสื้อ (The Elephant and the Tailor)

The Elephant and the Tailor

Once upon a time, there was a huge elephant in the jungle. 

In the nearby village, there was a famous tailor. 

Everyday the elephant would visit the near by village. He would entertain the villagers, old and young with his very pleasing behavior.

Everyday the elephant would also visit the tailor. They had become very close friends. The tailor would feed him bananas daily.

One day, the tailor was not going to be in the shop. Knowing that the elephant would visit him, he had purchased the bananas and instructed his son to offer it to the elephant. 

"This bananas are so delicious. Why should I give it to the elephant? Better I eat them." Tailor's son thought. 

"Oh the tailor has kept the bananas for me with his son. Let me eat them." The elephant thought.

The tailor's son thought" Hey, he is taking these bananas. I want to eat them and hence I should stop him immediately. " and he said "You are naughty elephant. How dare you take these bananas. Let me punish you by poking this long needle." 

"Ouch!!! It hurt too much" screaming elephant.

He immediately went to the nearby village pond and filled his truck with the dirty water. 

He returned to the village in a very angry mood and headed straight to the tailor's shop. He sprayed the dirty water on the tailor's son. As a result, the whole shop with the clothes become very dirty.

Just at that time the tailor returned. He asked " What happened my son? How come you and all these clothes get so dirty?" 

The son explained the whole episode to his father. 

"Because you did not follow my instructions and become greedy to those bananas, the elephant has taught you a lesson. Since he is my good friend, he has behaved mercifully, else he could have killed you. Never misbehave with anyone and never become greedy. My please follow the instructions of your well wisher.

"Let us feed the elephant and thus thank him for teaching you a very important lesson." Tailor said  while tailor's son said "Sorry, please forgive me"

ทุกๆ วัน ช้างจะต้องแวะไปหาช่างตัดเสื้อ พวกเขาทั้งคู่กลายมาเป็นเพื่อนรักกัน ช่างตัดเสื้อให้กล้วยช่างกินทุกครั้ง

One day, the tailor was not going to be in the shop. Knowing that the elephant would visit him, he had purchased the bananas and instructed his son to offer it to the elephant. "This bananas are so delicious. Why should I give it to the elephant? Better I eat them." Tailor's son thought "Oh the tailor has kept the bananas for me with his son. Let me eat them." The elephant thought.

วันหนึ่งช่างตัดเสื้อไม่ได้ไปที่ร้าน แต่เขาก็ยังซื้อกล้วยเตรียมไว้ให้เพราะรู้ว่าช้างต้องมาหา และสั่งลูกชายของตนว่าให้เอากล้วยให้ช้างกิน "กล้วยนี่อร่อยจะตายทำไมฉันต้องให้ช้างกิน? ฉันเก็บไว้กินเองดีกว่า" ลูกชายช่างตัดเสื้อคิด "โอ้ ช่างตัดเสื้อฝากกล้วยไว้กับลูกชายให้ข้านี่นา ข้าจะกินกล้วยนี้"

The tailor's son thought "Hey, he is taking these bananas. I want to eat them and hence I should stop him immediately." and he said "You are naughty elephant. How dare you take these bananas. Let me punish you by poking this long needle."

ลูกชายช่างคิดว่า "เฮ้..มันกำลังจะหยิบกล้วย ฉันจะกินกล้วยนี้ ฉันต้องยุดมันเดี๋ยวนี่" แล้วเอ๋ยขึ้นว่า "เจ้าช้างจอมซน เจ้ากล้าดีอย่างไรกันที่มาฉวยเอากล้วยพวกนี้ มาฉันจะลงโทษเจ้าด้วยการเอาเข็มก้านยาวจื้มเจ้า

"Ouch!!! It hurt too much" screaming elephant.

"โอ้ย !!!! มันช่างเจ็บปวดอะไรอย่างนี้" ช้างร้อง

He immediately went to the nearby village pond and filled his truck with the dirty water. He returned to the village in a very angry mood and headed straight to the tailor's shop. He sprayed the dirty water on the tailor's son. As a result, the whole shop with the clothes become very dirty.

เจ้าช้างวิ่งไปยังบ่อน้ำใกล้หมู่บ้านในทันทีแล้วใช้งวงของมันดูดน้ำสกปรกเข้าไปเต็มงวง จากนั้นกลับมายังหมู่บ้านด้วยอารมณ์โกรธอย่างมากมุ่งตรงไปยังร้านตัดเสื้อ พ่นน้ำสกปรกใส่ลูกชายช่างตัดเสื้อ ทำให้ร้านตัดเสื้อที่มีเสื้ออยู่เต็มร้านเปื้อนไปหมด
