The Donkey and His Purchaser (ลากับคนซื้อลา)
The man wanted to purchase a donkey. He agreed with its owner that he should try out the animal before he bought him. He took the donkey home and put him in the straw-yard with his other donkeys.
มีชายคนหนึ่งต้องการหาซื้อลาสักตัว เขาได้ตกลงกับเจ้าของลาว่า ต้องการทดสอบลาตัวนี้ก่อนที่จะตัดสินใจซื้อ เขาจึงนำลากลับไปที่บ้านของตัวเอง แล้วปล่อยมันไว้ในคอกฟางกับลาตัวอื่นๆ ของเขา
The donkey then left all the others and joined the one that was the laziest and the greatest eater of them all. Seeing this, the man put a halter on him and led him back to his owner.
เจ้าลาตัวใหม่แยกตัวออกจากฝูงลาตัวอื่น และไปคบหากับลาตัวที่ขี้เกียจ และ ตะกระที่สุดในคอก เมื่อเห็นดังนั้น คนซื้อลาจึงหยิบเชือกคล้องคอลาตัวใหม่แล้วจูงมันไปคืนกลับให้แก่เจ้าของ

เจ้าของลาถามเขาว่าเหตุใดจึงใช้เวลาทดสอบลาตัวนี้เร็วนัก คนซื้อลาตอบกลับไปว่า ฉันไม่จำเป็นต้องทดสอบอะไรมันอีกแล้ว เพราะฉันรู้แล้วว่าเจ้าลาตัวนี้มันก็คงมีนิสัยไม่ต่างจากลาตัวที่มันเลือกคบนั่นแหล่ะ
