นิทานเรื่อง ลูกหมู แกะ กับแพะ (The Piglet, the Sheep, and the Goat)
A young pig was shut up in a fold-yard with a goat and a sheep. On one occasion when the shepherd laid hold of him, he grunted and squeaked and resisted violently.
ลูกหมูอ้วนตัวหนึ่งแอบหลบหนีเข้าไปหลบอยู่ในฝูงแพะและแกะ เมื่อคนเลี้ยงแกะมาพบเข้าก็วิ่งไล่จับมัน เจ้าลูกหมูส่งเลี้ยงร้อง “อู๊ด อู๊ด” ดังลั่น และ วิ่งหนีอุตหลุด
The sheep and the goat complained of his distressing cries, saying,
"He often handles us, and we do not cry out."
แกะและแพะจึงบ่นกับเรื่องเสียงร้องของเจ้าลูกหมูขึ้นว่า “โอ๊ย พวกเราถูกเขาจับเป็นประจำ ไม่เห็นพวกเราจะต้องร้องเสียงหลงอย่างเจ้าเลย”
The pig replied,

“การถูกจับของเจ้ากับของข้ามันต่างโดยสิ้นเชิง เขาจับพวกเจ้าไปเพื่อตัดขนหรือรีดนมเท่านั้น แต่เขาจะจับข้าไปเชือดต่างหากล่ะ ” ลูกหมูตะโกนตอบพร้อมวิ่งหนีสุดชีวิต
